I just can’t get warm today. I was nice and toasty last night, thanks to our electric blanket and down comforter we got from Mom and Dad for Christmas (thanks a million!!!) but since I stepped foot outside the bed, I have been cold.
I think this might have something to do with it:
Pink & white = freezing precip; green = rain. Current temp=31, according to my computer’s Weather Channel Desktop feature.
If you look closely, you can see “Britany’s” located just on the line between the green and pink. Outside, here’s what I’m seeing:

icy tree
I know. Sometimes it’s hard to believe I grew up on a farm in South Texas, isn’t it?
Okay, I can’t let you talk about freezing when I am sitting here actually freezing!!! Yes, our electricity went out around 2:30 this afternoon. Dad picked me from work around 5:30 and took me home to a “cold” house. It was 55 degrees in the house when he left to go work out. I wrapped up in a quilt and tried to read a book with my flashlight. Yes, I grew up on a farm in western Oklahoma. We lived without electricity much of the time. The electricity came on just a few minutes before Dad came home at 7:30. So the house is still cold and probably will be for some time. Our Live Oak trees are hanging low with ice tonight. Thank goodness, the roads are not icy “yet.”
