Yeah, that’s right.  I did it.  After 15 years of buying Creative Memories products from other people, I finally took the plunge and decided to become a consultant.

Initial observations:

1. If you thought I was addicted before, oh my!  I’m like a kid in a candy store!  All I can see are the numbers: 30% discount!  30% discount!  Lord, help me!  My saving grace has been knowing that whatever I buy digitally, I can keep forever and won’t have to repurchase for my next album.  At least, that’s the line I keep feeding my bad addicted self.

2. I got my Disney Album in the mail yesterday – the first digital album I have ever created just for my family.  I can’t begin to describe how gratifying it was to see Peter and Matthew reading through every page of the book and talking about how fun the trip was.  THAT is why I do this!  Plus, it’s a nice-enough looking book to leave it on our coffee table.  And if someone accidentally spills grape juice all over it and ruins it?  No problem – I can order another one (and whoever ruined the first book will be paying for it!!!).  But seriously, my whole reason for wanting to make a scrapbook of that trip was so that in years to come, we can all remember God’s wonderful gift to us in the form of that trip to Florida.  Brad hasn’t seen the printed version of the book, but he looked through it online and said his favorite page was the last page, which was all text.  I labeled it “Mommy’s Memories” and just wrote out the things I remember best about our trip.  I think that’s really why I like to scrapbook – because it serves as an outlet for my love of writing.

3. While I am truly enjoying my hobby, I will not be imposing myself on you.  So please don’t avoid me at church – I promise not to accost you.  However, if you find yourself in need of a consultant, I would be happy to help you in any way that I can.  For starters, I am going to get Digitally Certified so that I can be an expert on the Storybook Software.  Also, I’m toying with the idea of having a crop at my house with both traditional and digital scrapbooking.  If you are wanting to start digital scrapbooking, I could help you with the program and do some training and if you are a traditional scrapbooker, I can look into providing some info about new products, etc.  If you think that sounds fun, let me know so I can include you on the invitation list!

4. I promise not to make my blog all about scrapbooking.  Really!  I promise!  I just need the kids to start back to school so I have some new material to write about.  Which happens in just about FOUR DAYS!  Not that I’m counting or anything.  So…more in four!
