[Edited to reduce the size of the pictures since the interesting half of several were cut completely off.]
Brad and I were getting ready for bed a few nights ago and I told him about something that had happened that day – something really funny – and he asked if I was going to blog about it. I looked at him funny and said “I don’t really blog much anymore” to which he replied “Why not? I love reading your blog?”.
That’s kind of like waving crack in front of a junkie and asking if he wants some.
So here I am again, blogging for no other reason than that I’m shameless in my search for my husband’s approval. The only problem is that now that I’m sitting here, I can NOT remember any of the funny things I was planning to write about. In fact, all I can think about are the really UNfunny things, like how the boys have been acting since school let out a few weeks ago. I have one word that describes it all: INGRATE. Definition: my 3 UNGRATEFUL children.
In fact, I got so mad at them yesterday that I sat them down with a notebook paper that had a list on one side of all the things we provide for them, and a “list” on the other of what they do for us. Our list filled an entire side. Their list was 2 lines long, and that was being generous. Of course, they insisted I add a few more that I had forgotten (although I still don’t see how them going to school each day is something that they do for us, but I added it anyway). Then I took away every bit of screen time until Friday. Oh, and I made them bag up some of their toys to give away to poor children who have nothing.
In other, non-related new, I have somehow managed to write this post in a window that does not allow me to preview it prior to hitting “publish post”. So I have no idea how it will look, but then again, I’m not going to be the one reading it. Ha.
Well, I still can’t recall a single funny thing that has happened lately, so I have put in some pictures from Brad’s and Peter’s little family party, including the incredible rainbow cake I baked him and what it looked like before I salvaged it. It actually ended up being really tasty and unbelievably pretty – and easy. I got the instructions off a blog page so if you’re reading this and lusting after the rainbow cake, here’s how simple it is: buy 2 boxes of white cake mix, mix according to the directions, then divide each recipe into two separate bowls and add food coloring. Cook according to box directions, wait for it to cool (that’s the step I learned about the hard way), then ice and stack and voila! You have a ridiculously pretty cake!
Also, there’s some pictures of Matthew earning his blue belt in Martial Arts and a few other sundries. If I think of the funny stories, I’ll get right back on here and post. But for now, here’s to mediocre blogging! Cheers!
