Well, it’s almost the end of June and I haven’t had time to write more than a few short blog posts! We’ve had a crazy month, and it’s a little unnerving to realize it’s almost July. As my boys would be quick to point out, that’s means almost 33% of our summer is over!!! (Everything is percentages lately, and at swimming lessons this morning, I heard Samuel tell our swim instructor that there was a 50% chance he would sink when she told him to try floating on his back. Turns out, that there was one of them ‘self fulling prophecies’. But that’s another story.)

So what have we been doing, you ask? (At least, in the little pretend world in my mind you are asking.) Well, Brad and I went on a vacation ALONE to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We felt like surviving spending 20 years of faithfulness to each other was worth celebrating, especially at a time when we are hearing about more & more friends divorcing.

Anywho, back to summer. We have celebrated Peter’s, Brad’s and Samuel’s birthdays, as well as Father’s Day, of course. We have welcomed Brad’s brother and his family into our home, as their house sold much sooner than expected. We have made trips to the library, the movie theater, Gattitown and Target. Actually, we have made multiple trips to Target. In one day. Oh, and we have been to swimming lessons, Martial Arts, and the community pool.

Then yesterday, we took Peter to Sky Ranch for a week of summer camp. (Which explains why I now have time to write this. It’s amazing how much less work 2 kids is than 3.) (I’m wondering where I can send Matthew next week to keep the trend going.)

Next month looks like it will be even busier, if that’s possible, with more swimming lessons, VBS, and a trip to visit my parents for a week. Also, our guests will be with us for part of July, as well. We’re so glad we have plenty of room for them, and are hoping they can fully embrace the “Mi casa es su casa” mentality, but I have a feeling that isn’t going to happen until their dog and our dog get used to having each other around. Snickers has been more than a little excited/worried about Riley, and Riley is just barely able to tolerate our crazy puppy. Add a 4 month old and 3 year old into the mix, and let’s just say we have a lot of excitement right now!

Well, I have to confess that I’ve been writing this during Samuel’s swimming lesson and it’s almost at an end so I better close. I’ll include some recent pictures from the above mentioned events. Adios!
