Brad traveled to Orlando last week.  Without us.  I KNOW.  So sad.

Anyway, we had a lot of discussions about where Daddy was, what Daddy was doing, how we could pray for Daddy, etc.  This led to many questions, one of my favorites of which came from Matthew, who wanted to know if Daddy was going to fly over the Gulp of Mexico.  I had to ask him to repeat it several times just to make sure I was hearing him right.  Yes, yes I was.

The Gulp of Mexico it is, then.

I know what you’re thinking, and yes, like a good Mommy (after I had gotten my fill of hearing him say that – about 2 hours later), I corrected him.  I even pulled up Google maps so he could see the “f” in “Gulf”.  Now Matthew is saying it correctly and Samuel is saying “Gulp”.  I honestly thought he was doing it to get a laugh, but then he assured me that Matthew was right the FIRST time and is now saying it WRONG.  Can you say strong-willed child???

I would show him the “f” but he’s not reading yet.  He’s only 4 years old, but no one can convince him that the proper pronunciation is “Gulf”.  Ah well, there are bigger issues than that to face.  Like, oh I don’t know, learning how to swim in the big Gulp?
